The “Internship for Young People with Disabilities” program is launching its seventh cycle. This year, the program has attracted a record number of employers—47 companies have expressed interest in providing opportunities for young people with disabilities to gain valuable work experience.
The Youth with Disabilities Forum is proud that each year more companies recognize the importance of creating opportunities for young people with disabilities to enhance their professional skills. In addition to the traditional participants, such as IKEA and Generali Insurance, this year we also have new companies participating for the first time.
On November 14, 2024, the YDF held a training session for employers participating in the program. The participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the institutional framework and rights of persons with disabilities, inclusive procedures, and best practices in the employment of persons with disabilities. The training also provided a platform for questions and the exchange of experiences essential for the successful implementation of Internship program.
Training for employers is implemented within the project “Job Fit: Economic empowerment of persons with disabilities”, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and implemented by the Youth with Disabilities Forum. Other partners in the project are Caritas of Serbia, the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation, the Smart Kolektiv and the Center for Independent Living of Persons with Disabilities of Serbia.
