The Youth with Disabilities Forum, in collaboration with Generali Insurance, organized a workshop for Generali Insurance managers aimed at improving the position of people with disabilities in the workplace. The workshop covered key topics such as understanding disability, DEI policies, and the importance of adapting working conditions to ensure equality and equal access to employment for all.
Trainers from the YDF emphasized the importance of adjusting working conditions and technology to enable people with disabilities to participate equally in the workforce. Through concrete examples from practice, they explained how inclusive procedures can be implemented in everyday business operations.
The trainers from Generali Insurance shared their experiences in hiring people with disabilities. They discussed their collaboration with YDF, the recruitment and selection process, as well as the success of the internal inclusive policy, which includes statistical data showing positive results. Additionally, examples of workplace adjustments were presented, along with the process of continuously monitoring these adjustments to ensure a suitable work environment for employees with disabilities.
The workshop concluded with a call to action, encouraging participants to consider what each of us can do to contribute to a more equitable work environment for all.
The participation of YDF speakers in the workshop was carried out within the framework of the project “Job Fit: Economic Empowerment of People with Disabilities,” which is funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by the Youth Forum for People with Disabilities. Other project partners include Caritas Serbia, the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation, Smart Kolektiv, and the Center for Independent Living of People with Disabilities in Serbia.
