Belgrade, May 27, 2026 – A new edition of FMI Talks was held at the YDF Career Center for Persons with Disabilities, organized by the Youth with Disabilities Forum (YDF), under the theme “Equality of Persons with Disabilities in Practice.”

The guest speaker at the event was Jelena Kotević, Assistant to the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, who, through a direct conversation with participants, presented concrete mechanisms and tools for protection against discrimination, as well as ways to advance equality for persons with disabilities in everyday life.

The main goal of the meeting was to explore, through open and honest dialogue, the real-life experiences of persons with disabilities in exercising their rights. In a welcoming and interactive atmosphere, participants had the opportunity to ask questions, share experiences, and gain practical guidance for further action.

Special emphasis was placed on the importance of empowering persons with disabilities to take a more active role in advocacy processes, as well as on raising awareness about available protection mechanisms.

The Youth with Disabilities Forum extends its gratitude to Jelena Kotević for her time, openness to dialogue, and commitment to advancing equality. We also thank all participants for their active engagement and for contributing to a constructive, supportive, and inspiring atmosphere.
