This year’s internship program for young people with disabilities has garnered considerable attention from employers, with 36 companies applying to provide valuable work experience and opportunities for professional growth within their organizations.
The Youth with Disabilities Forum organized a training session for interested employers on November 23, 2023. Participants had the chance to delve into topics such as the institutional framework and rights of individuals with disabilities, inclusive procedures, and exemplary practices in disability employment. Moreover, they were encouraged to address any queries pivotal for the seamless execution of work practice initiatives.
Training for employers is implemented within the project “Job Fit: Economic empowerment of persons with disabilities”, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and implemented by the Youth with Disabilities Forum. Other partners in the project are Caritas of Serbia, the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation, the Smart Kolektiv and the Center for Independent Living of Persons with Disabilities of Serbia.
