The counselors of the Career Centers for people with disabilities in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niš, Zrenjanin, Valjevo and Subotica have been providing continuous and individualized support to people with disabilities for six months in order to improve their employability.
Counselors in their daily work provide support to people with disabilities in the job search process, which is reflected in the recognition of their own capacities and potential for inclusion in the labor market, support when choosing appropriate professional goals, referrals to additional training, as well as developing the soft skills of service users , through an individual and group approach.
More than 100 people with disabilities used the services of Career Centers in the previous period.
Since we are talking about an innovative service, which is being implemented for the first time in six cities in Serbia, Caritas Serbia and YDF organized a supervision meeting for counselors, with the aim of monitoring the achieved results, answering counselors’ questions and looking at opportunities for improving work procedure.
The meeting was held online on January 29, 2024. years.
The supervision meeting was led by professionals from the Pamark Multidisciplinary Educational Center from Podgorica, with many years of experience in the implementation of psychosocial support as part of the professional rehabilitation program in Montenegro. The program is licensed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare of Montenegro, and the quality of the execution is confirmed by the international certificate of Standard ISO 900L:2008.
After the meeting, the supervisors submitted a report with recommendations and guidelines for further work, with a special focus on the reporting segment.
The activity is realized within the project Job Fit: Economic empowerment of persons with disabilities, financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by the Youth with Disabilities Forum. Other partners of the project are Caritas of Serbia, Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation, Smart Kolektiv and the Center for Independent Living of Persons with Disabilities.
