From October 28 to 30, 2025, at the Kompas venue in Novi Pazar, Youth with Disabilities Forum in cooperation with the Initiative for Development and Cooperation (IDC), organized a three-day training on writing project proposals as part of the “Empowered” program.
The training brought together representatives of institutions, organizations, and associations with the goal of strengthening their capacity to develop project proposals that will contribute to improving the position of persons with disabilities in Novi Pazar.
During the training, participants learned about the entire project cycle—from idea development to documentation preparation. The first day was dedicated to the basics: defining the concept of a project, identifying problems and target groups, as well as formulating objectives and expected results. Through interactive sessions, participants learned how to identify community needs and translate them into concrete project proposals.
The second and third days focused on the technical and strategic aspects of project implementation. Attendees mastered skills in planning activities, budgeting, risk management, and ensuring sustainability. The final part of the training covered monitoring and evaluation, as well as the preparation of mandatory and supporting documentation, giving participants a comprehensive understanding of how to successfully create and manage a project from idea to implementation.
Mirsada Dibranin Ajdinović from the Intermunicipal Organization of the Blind in Novi Pazar emphasized the importance of such training: “Gaining new knowledge and exchanging ideas with other participants is a valuable experience that motivates us to initiate real changes in our communities.”
The “Empowered” project focuses on strengthening the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the Western Balkans region. It is led by the German organization Arbeiter Samariter Bund Deutschland e.V and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. IDC is the local partner in the project.
